School can be a little stressful at times and sometimes, it’s hard to stay focused. Today, I will be giving you tips on how to be successful in school. If you ever find yourself extremely busy, with sports, the arts, and other after school activities when you clearly need to study, then stop what you’re doing and study! Skipping a few practices won’t hurt anyone. Because academics comes first before hobbies. Second, don’t procrastinate. It’s a shame for me to say this because I’m a huge procrastinator. Of course, it’ll be hard, but while you’re studying, shut off any electronic devices and websites that might distract you and focus more on your work. But, don’t work all the time because you need to take breaks. Which brings me to my third tip, take breaks! Studying everything you need to know in 3 hours might overwhelm your brain. Take snack breaks or maybe, take a walk to cool down.
Stay on top of your homework. Do your assignments the day they were given to you, don’t leave everything to the last minute. Always listen and take notes. Always listen carefully to the teacher, so you understand the work he/she gives you. Also, take notes! The teacher can’t possibly expect you to remember everything, so write them down so you don’t forget.
In summary, just to clarify:
– Academics comes first, don’t spend too much time doing other activities
– Don’t procrastinate
– Take breaks
– Don’t leave everything to the last minute
– Listen & take notes
If you follow these tips, then you might just be successful in school!
